This Privacy Policy explains how Emmaline collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Emmaline mobile app, website, and related services.

Emmaline is a voice-first AI assistant. That means some of the information you share with us may include voice audio, transcripts, notes, uploaded documents, and support messages.

Information We Collect

We collect account details you provide directly, such as your email address, password, marketing preferences, and support messages.

When you use voice and reader features, we may collect call audio, call metadata, transcripts, summaries, notes, uploaded text or PDF content, and usage records tied to your account.

Reader uploads and pasted text you ask Emmaline to read or process
Support form submissions, deletion requests, and consent records
Device and request metadata needed for security, fraud prevention, and service operations

How We Use Information

We use information to provide the service, authenticate users, power voice calls, generate transcripts and summaries, respond to support requests, manage subscriptions if offered, and improve reliability.

We do not currently use third-party advertising networks inside the app or website.

Maintain security, prevent abuse, and investigate service issues

Permissions and Sensitive Features

The app requests microphone access so you can place in-app voice calls and record Listen Mode sessions. The app only accesses the microphone after your device-level permission prompt and your in-app action.

If you import documents or create support requests, the app only sends that content when you explicitly choose to upload or submit it.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party infrastructure providers to operate Emmaline. These providers process data on our behalf to deliver specific parts of the service.

Your use of Emmaline may involve the services listed below depending on which features you use.

Twilio for voice calling and phone infrastructure
OpenAI for transcription, summarization, and AI response generation
Google Cloud for some speech recognition and text-to-speech features
Supabase for application data storage and account-related records
Resend for support and waitlist or newsletter-related email delivery when configured

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

If you delete your account, we will remove or de-identify account-linked data from active systems, subject to backup, fraud-prevention, or legal retention needs.

Account and consent records are retained for compliance and audit purposes
Call, transcript, note, and reader content are retained until you delete them or your account is deleted, unless a shorter retention rule is introduced
Support requests may be retained to resolve the issue and document outcomes

Children's Privacy

Emmaline is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
